LED bulbs have a very low power consumption, which may cause flickering, malfunctioning, or false warnings about burned-out bulbs on vehicles with computer-controlled bulb operation checks, even with LED bulbs with a CANBUS decoder installed. This usually prevents operational errors on most vehicles but not all. In these vehicles, false messages about bulb burnout may still occur despite using a CANBUS LED bulb. In this case, an additional intermediate CANBUS smart decoder needs to be added to the bulb.
